It becomes the voice for those who need an acceptable means of expressing what would come across as bathos and melodrama in prose, and would thereby lose the authority to speak for so many who need to know they are not alone, and perhaps receive a nudge to express themselves.<br />I do believe art needs more than itself to justify its existence.
